OILS: STORAGE, USE AND HANDLING INSTRUCTIONS FOR OIL

Technilub oils are synonymous with quality. The care taken to guarantee your satisfaction makes our products as efficient as can be. However, certain precautions for storage and use need to be observed in order to maximise the lifetime of your products and to use them properly.
STORAGE
Our oils must be stored in a cool and dry location. They must not be exposed to extreme temperature conditions. The storage location must not be exposed to strong sunlight, intense cold or extreme variations in temperature. Humidity, dust and exposure to weathering should be avoided wherever possible.

Our lubricant oils can be guaranteed to remain constant for up to 5 years from the date of manufacture, provided of course that the storage conditions are complied with. However, once opened and whatever the packaging, you should pay the utmost attention to the product storage conditions, as there is a high risk of oxidation and contamination.

Take care with haphazard stacking: drums at the bottom or at the rear risk never being used and/or exceeding their use-by date. The storage method to be used is FIFO (first in, first out). This consists in using the oldest product in your stock first. A virtuous cycle is thus created, generating optimum product rotation. This reduces the risk of products situated at the bottom or back of a pile never being used.

STORAGE FOR PROFESSIONALS

Ideally (mandatory when storing outdoors), our drums and barrels must be stored on their sides. This limits fluid stagnation and the accumulation of dust on the lid, which could lead to contamination of the lubricant. Label obliteration is also prevented, which would make it difficult to identify the product.
The bungs must be positioned horizontally. In this way, the threading of the bungs remains in contact with the lubricant, consolidating the drum seal and preventing air from entering.
To avoid damage to the metallic drum container, isolate it from the ground using wooden shims or an appropriate solution. To coat with oil the non-immersed sections and avoid corrosion, it is important to rotate the drum halfway around its circumference once a year.
For bulk storage, the storage tanks must be clean and accessible. They must be equipped with a drain, and ideally with a vent equipped with a desiccator to protect from contaminants.
USE :
General recommendations for using our oils (all packaging combined)
- Take care not to contaminate your products (with sawdust, metal shavings, etc.).
- Do not mix your oil with other types of oil. Clean your tools before each product change.
- Close your container securely after each use.
- Note the opening date on your product (we recommend that you use our products within the course of the year).
- Warning: a drain pan is mandatory.

HANDLING
Set to zero the service pressure of your equipment before replacing your drum, tank, etc.
The use of tools suited to handling certain heavy packaging (e.g. drums) is mandatory.
The wearing of PPE, such as gloves, safety boots and goggles, is recommended. For further information, see the safety data sheets for each product, available on request.
